Dreadful Visage is a dark, desaturated purple-grey Contrast paint from the Citadel range. Applied over Wraithbone or Grey Seer, the colour produces a pallid, sickly tone in raised areas with darker pooling in recesses - creating the look of unhealthy, necrotic, or undead flesh without blending or multiple layers.
The paint is designed for undead and horror models. On Ossiarch Bonereapers models that feature exposed bone-construct faces and flesh remnants, Dreadful Visage produces the grey-purple pallor of death magic without reading as a standard grey or brown. Nighthaunt spirit models, Flesh-eater Courts ghouls, and Death faction human-scale undead all benefit from the colour's sickly undertone. It also works on daemon flesh, mutant skin, and Chaos-corrupted models where an unhealthy supernatural skin tone is appropriate - particularly Nurgle daemons and corrupted mortals. The colour's dark desaturated character means it reads as a shadow tone at tabletop distance, making it effective as a targeted glaze on facial recesses to add depth to hollow eye sockets and gaunt cheekbones.
Citadel Contrast Dreadful Visage - a dark desaturated purple-grey for undead flesh, Ossiarch, Nighthaunt, and necrotic skin effects.
