Product Description

Citadel Base Nocturne Green is a Base paint from Games Workshop - a very deep, almost black-green that forms the foundation for Salamanders Space Marine chapter armour in the official Citadel painting system. Named after Nocturne, the volcanic forge-world that is the Salamanders' home planet, Nocturne Green is among the darkest greens in the Base range - darker than Caliban Green and substantially darker than Waaagh Flesh, providing a near-black green shadow layer onto which Castellan Green, Loren Forest and Straken Green highlights are progressively built.

Use as the base coat for all Salamanders Space Marine power armour in the standard Citadel Salamanders recipe, for any model where a very deep forest green serves as the starting shadow rather than the mid-tone, for Seraphon jungle terrain in very dense shadow areas, and for Dark Angels deep shadow colours in recesses when used alongside Caliban Green mid-tones. Nocturne Green is specific enough in its purpose that it is most used by Salamanders players, but any project requiring a very dark green base - including Death Guard and Nurgle adjacent green schemes at their darkest - can use it as a starting point. Apply over black primer.
