Citadel Contrast Aethermatic Blue is a pale, slightly ethereal blue in the Contrast range - a washed-out, cool blue that sits at the lighter, more spectral end of the blue palette rather than the vivid or deep ends. It produces a very different result from darker Contrast blues: a ghostly, translucent quality that suits spectral models, icy effects and the pale colouring of undead spirit creatures when applied over a light primer.

Apply over Wraithbone or Grey Seer spray on Nighthaunt spirit models for a cool, ghostly blue wash that settles into the robes and forms of banshees, chainrasps and hexwraiths. Works for the ethereal blue energy of Stormcast Eternal celestial power, for pale Aeldari ghost warrior models in spectral schemes, and for frost and ice effects on bases and seasonal terrain.
