Apply as the basecoat over primer for Space Wolves armour, establishing the darkest tone in the grey progression before Russ Grey, Fenrisian Grey and Ulthuan Grey are layered on raised surfaces. Also works as a dark grey-blue shadow colour on terrain and any model where a cold, dark grey reads better in recesses than pure black - Raven Guard secondary shadow areas, iron armour depth shading.

The foundation of the Space Wolves armour progression. Lay down The Fang, wash with Nuln Oil, then build up with Russ Grey and Fenrisian Grey highlights.
