Biel-Tan Green is a vivid green shade wash from the Citadel range, named after the Craftworld Biel-Tan and its warrior culture. Applied over a dried basecoat it flows into recesses and surface detail, leaving vivid shadow depth from a single application. The colour is a pure, saturated green - deeper and richer in the recesses, leaving only a thin tint on raised surfaces.
The classic use for Biel-Tan Green is on Ork skin - in many edition painting guides it was the shade of choice over a Warboss Green basecoat to produce standard Ork skin, and it remains one of the most efficient ways to complete Ork and Orruk skin at tabletop speed. Beyond green skin, the shade works on Aeldari Biel-Tan army models whose green armour and white panels benefit from a green shadow in detail recesses, Space Marine armour in Salamanders and Dark Angels schemes, natural foliage and vegetation on terrain, and any model where a vivid green shadow is appropriate. Applied selectively with a fine brush to detail recesses rather than washed over the whole model, it produces a neater result on models where control is needed.
