How to Paint a Battle-Ready Ork Warboss
Orks are meant to be green, mean, and messy. If you are painting a full mob, you need a process that looks great but doesn’t take a week per model. This guide gets your Warboss from grey plastic to tabletop-ready using a dependable Citadel recipe.
The Core Recipe Card
- Primer: Chaos Black Spray
- Skin Base: Orruk Flesh
- Skin Wash: Biel-Tan Green
- Metal Base: Leadbelcher
- Metal Wash: Nuln Oil
The Process: Step-by-Step
1. Base the Skin: Apply two thin coats of Orruk Flesh. Don’t worry about perfection; Orks look better with a bit of texture.
2. Wash for Depth: Slather the skin in Biel-Tan Green. This settles in the muscles and does the hard work for you.
3. Mechanical Bits: Paint all the choppas and shootas with Leadbelcher. Once dry, wash them with Nuln Oil for that oily, used look.
4. Final Touches: Highlight the highest points of the skin with a tiny bit of the original Orruk Flesh mixed with a drop of yellow.
