Citadel Base Ad Bark is a dark, warm brown base paint - named for the Adeptus Mechanicus and positioned in the range of bark, dark leather and the rich earthy brown used as a foundation for wood, organic material and certain army colour schemes. The deep warmth gives subsequent highlights a rich quality rather than the cooler quality of dark neutral browns.
Apply as the base coat for dark wood and bark textures, the leather straps and pouches on Adeptus Mechanicus robes, and the rich earth tone base for terrain pieces in forest or organic environments. Works as the dark foundation for any warm brown that needs to progress upward through Mournfang Brown, Balor Brown and Ushabti Bone highlights. Also effective as a shadow coat applied to terrain before drybrushing.
