Citadel Base Kantor Blue is a very deep navy blue - almost black with a strong blue quality that only shows clearly when highlights are built above it. It's the base for Crimson Fists Space Marines and for any blue scheme where maximum depth in shadow areas is needed, with subsequent lighter blues providing all the visible blue colour on raised surfaces.
Apply as the foundation for Crimson Fists, deep blue chapters, Tyranid carapace in dark blue schemes and any model where blue should read as dark and authoritative rather than bright. The very dark base means subsequent highlights - Caledor Sky, Altdorf Guard Blue, Lothern Blue - give extremely strong contrast through the progression. Also works as the shadow base for Ultramarine schemes where Macragge Blue is the main colour.
A dark blue with strong covering power that forms the foundation of any deep blue armour scheme. The contrast between this dark base and bright blue highlights is more dramatic than starting with a mid-blue.
