Citadel Chaos Black Spray is the standard Citadel dark primer - a flat, fine-mist black aerosol that provides an even undercoat across plastic, resin and metal miniatures before painting begins. It is the most widely used spray primer in the Citadel range, forming the starting point for the majority of dark-armoured Warhammer armies and providing the black zenithal base used in many advanced lighting techniques.
Use for Black Templars, Raven Guard, Night Lords, Chaos Space Marines and any army where dark armour is the dominant palette. Apply outdoors or in well-ventilated conditions, holding the can 30cm from the model and using sweeping passes to build coverage without clogging fine detail. Pairs with drybrushed mid-tones and shade washes applied after to define features over the black base. Also used as a base before zenithal white or grey top-coat for instant light-and-shadow priming.
