Product Description

The Citadel Tools Drill is a pin vice - a hand-held rotary drill for making precise, small-diameter holes in Warhammer plastic, resin, and metal miniatures. The primary hobby use is drilling out gun barrel muzzles on Space Marine Bolters, plasma cannons, vehicle weapon barrels, and other tubular weapon ends to produce a hollow barrel opening, replacing the solid plastic plug that the kit leaves at the muzzle tip.

Beyond barrel drilling, the pin vice is the correct tool for pinning - a technique of drilling small holes into two joining surfaces and inserting a short length of metal rod (a pin) to reinforce the joint between heavy metal components or large resin parts that super glue alone cannot hold securely. Pinning is particularly important for metal miniature assembly and for large resin components such as monster wings, vehicle sponsons, and superheavy parts where weight and joint stress would break an unstrengthened adhesive bond over time. The drill accepts standard hobby drill bits in sizes appropriate for Warhammer use and applies enough torque through hand rotation to drill cleanly through plastic and resin without the power required by electric tools. Supplied as a single pin vice handle with compatible bits.
