Product Description

The Citadel Tools Mouldline Remover is a dedicated blade tool for scraping mould lines cleanly from Warhammer plastic miniature surfaces. Mould lines are visible seams left on a model's surface at the cast join points of the injection mould - they appear as raised ridges running across armour panels, limbs, faces, and weapon surfaces, and must be removed before painting to prevent them showing through the painted finish as unwanted raised lines.

Unlike a craft knife, which cuts and is prone to slipping across curved surfaces, the Mouldline Remover's hooked blade is specifically designed to scrape along a mould line seam and shave it flush with the surrounding surface in a controlled pulling motion. The hook profile reduces the risk of gouging detail or cutting across the surface beside the mould line, which is a common problem when using a craft knife edge on curved or irregular surfaces. The tool is most effective on plastic miniatures - the relatively soft material shaves cleanly - and produces a smooth result without sanding.
