Citadel Layer Son Of Horus Green is a mid-tone, slightly desaturated green named for the Sons of Horus Legion - the XIV Legion Astartes who followed Horus into heresy and whose armour is the canonical sea-green of the Horus Heresy. It is the defining armour layer for Sons of Horus Space Marines, applied over Lupercal Green base coats to establish the characteristic shade that occupies the exact tonal range associated with this fallen Legion.

Apply over Lupercal Green on Sons of Horus power armour, Justaerin Terminators, and Maloghurst the Twisted and other character models, shading with Nuln Oil before laying down this tone on raised panels. Also works as a mid-tone for any dark sea-green or teal-adjacent scheme, for Dark Angels in muted green before brighter highlights, and for creature models where a grey-tinged green mid-tone suits the skin colour better than brighter greens.
