Citadel Layer Vulkan Green is a dark, rich green named for Vulkan, the Primarch of the Salamanders Legion - the XVIII Legion Astartes known for their mastery of flame, their dark skin, and their deep green armour. It functions as the defining armour layer for Salamanders Space Marines, applied over Lupercal Green base coats to establish the deep, saturated green that is immediately recognisable as the Salamanders Chapter colour on the tabletop.

Apply over Lupercal Green on Salamanders Intercessors, Terminators, vehicles and characters, shading with Nuln Oil before bringing up the green with this mid-tone across raised armour panels. Follow with Warpstone Glow or Moot Green at the sharpest edges for the complete three-stage Salamanders green workflow. Also works for Dark Angels armour in darker green variants, for deep-green jungle vegetation on terrain, and for reptilian creatures in saturated green schemes.
