Poxwalker is a murky, desaturated brownish-green shade wash from the Citadel range, named after Poxwalkers - the shambling, mutated plague-zombie infantry of the Death Guard in Warhammer 40,000. Applied over a dried basecoat, it flows into recesses and surface detail, leaving a dull, sickly shadow that reads as diseased, organic, and slightly toxic - cooler and more grey-green in tone than the yellow-brown Mortarion Grime.
The shade's primary application is on Poxwalker models and undead flesh across the Death Guard and Chaos range. On the bloated, deformed skin of Poxwalkers and Plague Marines, the shade applied over a light flesh or grey basecoat produces the sickly, mottled, diseased skin tone that defines the Death Guard infantry aesthetic. Nurgle-corrupted mortals across Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar Maggotkin of Nurgle benefit from the colour's muted, infection-toned shadow. Beyond Nurgle, the shade works on Skaven flesh and rat-grey skin, on undead models whose skin should read as decomposed rather than desiccated, and on corrupted terrain pieces where surfaces are overgrown with plague-touched organic material.
Citadel Shade Poxwalker - a murky desaturated brownish-green shade wash for Death Guard, Poxwalkers, diseased flesh, and Nurgle corruption effects.
