Soulblight Grey is a cold blue-grey shade wash from the Citadel range, named after the Soulblight Gravelords - the vampire nobility of the Death faction in Age of Sigmar. Applied over a dried basecoat, it flows into recesses and surface detail, leaving a cool, slightly blue-grey shadow that chills and deepens grey and bone colour schemes from a single application.
The shade's cold character makes it most effective on models where a grey, bone, or pale colour palette benefits from a shadow that does not pull toward brown or warm tones. Soulblight Gravelords vampires and undead models in pale, cold colour schemes respond well - the blue-grey shadow reinforces the undead, life-drained quality of vampire skin and rotting cloth without the earthiness of a brown wash. Bone and skeleton models, where standard brown shades can make white bones look muddy rather than cold and ancient, take on a more otherworldly character with Soulblight Grey. White and pale grey armour panels, Stormcast Eternals Sacrosanct Chamber robes, and Ossiarch Bonereapers bone-construct surfaces all benefit from the cold shadow tone. The shade can also be used on silver metallic surfaces as an alternative to Nuln Oil where a cool, blue-tinged darkening is preferred over neutral black.
