Citadel Technical Martian Ironearth is a finer-grained companion to Martian Ironcrust - the same rust-red Martian soil colour, but with a texture that cracks and splits as it dries, replicating the dried cracked surface of iron-rich alien earth rather than the rougher rubble quality of Ironcrust. The cracking happens automatically during drying.
Apply to bases in a thin, even layer and allow to dry fully. The natural cracking creates a parched, baked-earth appearance in rust red that suits Mars, mechanicus forge worlds and any alien terrain with iron-rich geology. Drybrush with lighter reds and ochres after drying - the same palette as Ironcrust works for colour consistency across a mixed-texture base.
An excellent companion to Martian Ironcrust for bases with varied surface texture - use Ironcrust for raised rubble areas and Ironearth for flatter ground sections.
