Citadel Technical Mordant Earth is a dark cracking texture paint for model bases and scenery. It creates a broken earth effect with a darker, muddier finish than lighter desert textures, making it useful for swamp, wasteland, battlefield and dark forest basing.
Apply to bases in a medium layer and leave it to dry fully so the cracking effect can form. Once dry, it can be shaded, drybrushed or combined with other basing textures to add more variation across the ground.
It suits Death Guard, Nurgle, ruined battlefield and damp woodland themes particularly well, but the final effect can be pushed in different directions with drybrushing, tufts and surrounding basing materials.
