Product Description

The Turbo Dork TurboShift Starter Set is an introductory paint set for the TurboShift formula - Turbo Dork's colour-shift range, where each paint produces a multi-colour spectral shift as the model rotates under light. TurboShift paints display a continuously changing range of apparent colours - shifting through two or more distinct hues as the viewing angle changes - producing the same colour-change effect seen in certain insects, holographic materials, and chameleon automotive paints.

The starter set includes a selection of TurboShift colours spanning different shift ranges, allowing painters to see the formula in action across multiple colour families before expanding into the full individual TurboShift range. TurboShift paints perform best over a black basecoat or black primer, which maximises the visibility of the colour shift - the effect becomes increasingly visible as the underlying surface darkens. They apply from the pot with standard brushes and do not require an airbrush, making the holographic colour-shift effect achievable with standard hobby tools. Models with large flat or curved surfaces - Space Marine armour, vehicle panels, cloaks, and monster carapace - show the colour shift most dramatically.
